Lack of notability
[edit]As of writing, these are the references provided:
- "'Bindu' begins in full bloom". Sunday Times. Retrieved 22 December 2019.
- "Sri Lankan Screened Films". Sarasaviya. Archived from the original on 13 June 2016. Retrieved 11 March 2017.
- "Bindu 2009 film by Somaratne Dissanayake". somadissa.com. Retrieved 11 March 2017.
- "Bindu with new concept for Lankan cinema by Somaratne Dissanayake and Renuka Balasuriya at Sandeshaya Sri Lanka". Sandeshaya. Retrieved 11 March 2017.

Issues for notability:
- Movie listing
- List of cast and crew
- Primary source
- Dead link (the Sandeshaya cinema site appear to no longer have a page on Bindu or බිංදුු) - The Web Archive shows it to be a promotional piece when the film was released
- List of film names and dates
- Primary source (Lucas International appears to also not be notable)
I tried finding this film with numerous searches, and all results were from Wikipedia, the filmmaker's own site, or unrelated to this film. --Danielklein (talk) 05:30, 27 January 2020 (UTC)
- Gihan Jayaweera, thank you for adding the following reference, however, it still does not establish notability since it is a promotional piece written before the film came out.
- "Bindu - බින්දු". Sinhala Cinema Database. Retrieved 27 January 2020.

- Gihan Jayaweera, it's a massive coincidence that the "review" you linked to was written today, after I asked for references for notability. That review was actually written on or before 30 August 2009 by Ruwini Jayawardana and appeared in the Sri Lankan Sunday Observer. https://web.archive.org/web/20090909113200/http://www.sundayobserver.lk:80/2009/08/30/mag16.asp --Danielklein (talk) 08:38, 27 January 2020 (UTC)
- The newspaper coverage is from two reliable national newspapers and therefore counts towards WP:GNG imv Atlantic306 (talk) 17:22, 3 February 2020 (UTC)
- Both newspaper articles are promotional pieces. WP:NRV "No subject is automatically or inherently notable merely because it exists: the evidence must show the topic has gained significant independent coverage or recognition, and that this was not a mere short-term interest, nor a result of promotional activity or 'indiscriminate publicity". The newspapers are reliable but the coverage is promotional, so they do not establish notability. --Danielklein (talk) 12:23, 8 February 2020 (UTC)
