- Whoever felt the need to elaborate between trance and house: house is the parent musical style and as such need not be distinguished, other than perhaps to say "specifically: it was in the trance vein" or something similar. Also, the removal of "techno" (which is both producer Brian Transeau's Primary Ouvre and writer Eric Kupper's secondary style) was not necessary either. I don't really care a whole lot at the end of the day, but c'mon...
How old is she? I couldn't find it anywhere on the web, but someone must know.
- I think the 2000 issue date for 4 Ambient Tales is actually the date it was reissued. Someone copied me the tracks on a mix tape in 1996 (my first encounter with Billie!) - was the EP originally issued by a different label in the mid 90s perhaps? --PRL1973 23:34, 10 April 2007 (UTC)
You are correct. I'm fixing this now, both here and on the individual release page.
Birth name
[edit]I have removed the birth name and date that were only sourced to IMDB. See Wikipedia:Reliable_sources/Noticeboard/Archive_17#Is_IMDb_a_reliable_source.3F for discussion regarding this. Kevin (talk) 02:29, 3 March 2009 (UTC)
What is the problem?
[edit]I am not obsessed with this article, as VPanton claims. But what is wrong with the article:
- Conform Wikipedia:Identifying reliable sources, the article should be backed up by reliable, independent, third party sources. So no information out of first hand (i.e. Martin self). Preferred are secondary sources, that are sources who write about Martin without her being involved in it. Occasionally, primary sources, like published interviews with the singer can be used to back up minor things, (date of birth or something like that)
- Conform Wikipedia:No original research: Wikipedia articles must not contain original research. The term "original research" (OR) is used on Wikipedia to refer to material—such as facts, allegations, and ideas—for which no reliable, published sources exist.
- Social media like YouTube, Facebook, LinkedIn and others are no considered to be reliable sources (conform Wikipedia:BLPSPS) and can not be used.
- Due to the recent edits, the article contains an excessive amount of links to disambiguation pages
- Every article will be judges on its own merits. Their is no need for comparisons with other articles, because that has no value at all.
- With the comparison made with the article about the Pet Shop Boys, the difference is that the article about the PSB has 60 reliable sources, while the article about BRM has 19 sources, a number of them not a reliable source (like the 6 YouTube links)
- Main concern about this article is about Wikipedia:Biographies of living persons, that prescribes that articles should be reliable sourced, something this article fails dramatically.
Hope it is more clear now. The Banner talk 22:59, 6 January 2013 (UTC)

Birth date
[edit]So far we have had April 1959, 1970, and I've just removed July 1959 - none of which have ever been sourced. It's worth doing some research on this for something reliable, but until then we can leave it out. Crisso (talk) 16:48, 20 February 2024 (UTC)
