[edit]I feel that the title should be modified to 'Bill Black (Business Leader)' as he was only a politician for a period of two years in a career that spans much longer. The designation 'Business Leader' should make it unambiguous. One would not say they are a cook if they worked at a restaurant for two years while they got an engineering degree and then continued on to work as an engineer for the rest of their career. - I agree, he's notable for his career in business and losing an election doesn't really make a person a politician. A more appropriate title would be Bill Black (businessman). Cmr08 (talk) 00:18, 25 September 2015 (UTC)
Would executive make more sense as a title maybe?Weinbergphp (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 13:53, 4 November 2015 (UTC)
- We just went through this a few weeks ago. The discussion was closed, article was moved, and now you're back wanting to move it again? Can you explain your reasoning. Do you think executive makes him sound more important than businessman does? The term "executive" is very vague, it could mean almost anything. Also, there are no other Bill Blacks listed on the disambiguation page that are involved in business, so I see no reason to disambiguate further. We would only need to add extra words in the disambiguation link if there were others to distinguish from. Cmr08 (talk) 15:26, 4 November 2015 (UTC)

Bill Black (politician) → Bill Black (businessman) – The current name is not indicative of the subject. The person the article refers to was not a politician but rather, was a candidate and lost the election. The new name does not collide with any existing article and is dis-ambiguous. - Too generic? How (businessman} is too generic is beyond me. That's the way article titles are written. Trying to highlight a persons significance by putting the disambiguation in capital letters is not going to work, as there is no proper noun there. Since the only edits you have made have been to try to get the article title changed, maybe you should ask for help from an admin with experience in these types of changes before jumping right in and trying to do it yourself. You can request a name change which might be the easiest way to get this done. Take a look at Wikipedia:Requested moves. That should answer any questions you may have. - You're right, businessman should be fine as the title. I don't seem to have the ability to move the page myself is why I requested it via what I was able to find for technical moves.Weinbergphp (talk)
- Once you're autoconfirmed you should be able to move the page. I'm pretty sure once you have 10 edits, that will happen.
I still suggest going through the process I mentioned above, just to make sure it's done right.Cmr08 (talk) 22:23, 28 September 2015 (UTC)

- Strike the last sentence, as I see that is what you have already done. You should probably withdraw the request as it stands now, and then request it moved to Bill Black (businessman) because I have a feeling the other title might be rejected. Cmr08 (talk) 22:29, 28 September 2015 (UTC)
- What is this person most notable as? Would he still meet notability requirements without his political career? --BDD (talk) 15:25, 10 October 2015 (UTC)
- Maybe not, but I would say that as a politician, he is known as a businessman. --SmokeyJoe (talk) 04:29, 12 October 2015 (UTC)
- Support. Not very successful as a politician, quite notable as a businessman, before and after the foray into politics. --SmokeyJoe (talk) 04:28, 12 October 2015 (UTC)
