Asia?

[edit]

The last time I checked Egypt was in Africa, so why on earth is this listed under "National Anthems of Asia"? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 196.202.58.127 (talkcontribs)

Taken care of. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 196.202.52.77 (talkcontribs)

Err...its not exactly taken care of. Even though Egypt is included in the "National anthems of Africa", the link could still be found in the "National anthems of Asia" sections that could be found at the bottom of the anthem pages of all Asian countries. Jerch 12:56, 30 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Egypt is located mainly in North Africa, but the Sinai Peninsula forming a land bridge in Southwest Asia. So it's not wrong to list the article under "National Anthems of Asia".--M.Gedawy Talk 07:46, 15 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I put the Asia part back because Egypt is a transcontinental country, most of it in Africa but the Sinai is in Asia. --Mamdu (talk) 11:33, 17 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Russian translation

[edit]

Very funny. Russian translation is not a translation at all. It's just a set of abusive words which sound similarly to those in original lyrics.

3 or 4 stanzas?

[edit]

The article says that there are 3 stanzas, but shows 4. hgilbert (talk) 20:45, 20 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Why does the song's translation link the UK and Ottoman empire as "enemies" when the English words are brought up. Additionally, why does it link to the Wikipedia page for 'Shahid' when the Arabic word is not used. If this really was the author's intentions, then the links need backing up with some kind of explanation or source material. As it is now, it could just be someone's opinion. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2600:8806:6000:85:59E8:6D76:B898:2911 (talk) 15:29, 20 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Wrong IPA

[edit]

I removed that IPA, written by user:Учхљёная, because it's wrong. Perhaps, in the future, I'll correct it. --Mahmudmasri (talk) 20:47, 2 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

The Coptic

[edit]

In the Coptic chorus ̀̀Ⲡ̀ϭⲟⲓⲥ means "The Lord" and I don't see "the Lord" anywhere in the Arabic or English, where did that Coptic come from? I suspect the chorus at least is wrong — Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.114.80.190 (talk) 22:07, 28 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Who created that Coptic version, could someone document it? Sayed Darwish authored the original text only in Literary Arabic. --Mahmudmasri (talk) 23:30, 18 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
