I have not studied criminal procedure. Can someone who has please verify that criminal trials are always "bifrucated" into trial and sentencing. I am not confident that this division is technically the same as bifurcation which is explicitly definied in the FRCP. I am concerned that someone [poster] may have seen criminal trials as being demarcated (albiet correctly) and assumed that this is the same as bifurcation. I am unsure if this is the case.
