What, if anything, was Jimmy Cauty's involvement with this album? I see from AMG that he has a co-writing credit on "From a Distance", but it would seem from my reading that track might sample "A Huge Ever-Growing Brain". Is Cauty's credit simply due to ""From a Distance" being sampled? (I ask because I'm working on Cauty's article and, of course, if he worked on another Orb album it should be mentioned). --kingboyk 17:56, 4 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

  • I'm believe its AHEGB thats sampled in that track, but I'll listen to the track later tonight to make sure. I haven't read anything about Cauty working on Bikes/Trikes. Wickethewok 16:31, 5 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • Yeah, there seems to be several parts from AHEGPB in there. Lots of the soft synth-y stuff tweaked and re-used. Haven't seen any text stating this, but thats my belief. Wickethewok 06:49, 6 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
    • I thought the Thrash-era Orb was great (UFOrb being my favourite album of theirs, the Loving You Peel session performance being a hugely awesome early standout track) but I thought they went rapidly downhill. Haven't bought any Orb since the limited edition UFOff. Is this a sufficiently good comeback to be worth buying do you think? I've seen Cauty mentioned BTW, perhaps erroneously... Google is your friend! :) --kingboyk 13:39, 6 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • I think it actually was Cauty back with a guest appearance on "From a Distance", not just samples (though it does sound like some AHEGB samples on there, too, though). I think he's the "Blast Master" or "Master Blaster" or whatever. There's definitely some good stuff on the album, but nothing too special. I'd recommend Okie Dokie first if you like the Fehlmann-y stuff or the general sort of German minimal techno. Took a few listens to get into it though for me. Orbus Terrarum is my fav Orb album btw, so you know where I'm coming from. Sorry I didn't notice this weeks ago... 0_o Wickethewok 21:31, 25 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Orb-bike.gif

[edit]

Image:Orb-bike.gif is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
