Greetings,

The referenced newspaper article sates that Clarkson was "born and bred in Gisborne". Since I know nothing about New Zealand beyond "The Lord of the Rings" and "What We Do in the Shadows", could you please add more detail about that in the Early Life section for me? Do you have a source for her birthname and that of her parents, if possible? A birthdate, too? Dr Clarkson sounds like an interesting woman.

"...has compiled the handbook on the restoration of New Zealand wetlands" - If you could find out the name of that handbook, it would fill in the question of "WHAT HANDBOOK"? Just add a comma after wetlands and insert the name. Have you started an article on her husband? I know this one was through the Women in Red project, but it sounds like he might deserve one, too, especially since they seem to collaborate. Thank you for your time and for creating this article, Wordreader (talk) 05:04, 8 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Wordreader, thanks for your helpful feedback and assistance with improving this article. Unfortunately I haven't been able to find any reputable published sources on her early life nor her birth name or that of her parents. As you've pointed out a reference has stated she was the born and bred in Gisborne but as this is a city and a region of New Zealand, I decided not add that piece of information to her early life as I was uncertain which was correct. However I've informed the botanical community here in NZ and hopefully they'll be able to point me to sources so that I can expand this part of the article. As regards the handbook, you'll see in the selected works the first entry is a reference to "Wetland restoration : a handbook for New Zealand freshwater systems". I was of the opinion that this was the appropriate place to add some of her more important publications but of course feel free to improve the article if you think it should be specifically stated in the body of the text. As regards her husband, no I'm not intending on creating an article about him. Although he's definitely notable for the purposes of a Wikipedia article and yes they do collaborate I tend to concentrate on writing about women and NZ species. However I did Wiki link him to ensure that if anyone does create an article about him, it won't be orphaned. I've also improved his Wikidata item to ensure he does appear on articles needed lists. Thanks again for all your help, it has been much appreciated. - Ambrosia10 (talk) 20:29, 9 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
