Grampy theory
[edit]Hey Kharkless, I hate to be a stickler, but it's best not to put in speculation in an article. If you can cite a reference somewhere (a book, a website, a DVD commentary, etc.) that says this was a Grampy prototype, that's cool. One of Wikipedia's Five Pillars states that Wikipedia "is not the place to insert your own opinions, experiences, or arguments" (italics are mine).
Keep plugging away. I appreciate all you efforts to expand the Betty Boop articles.Konczewski 19:21, 20 October 2006 (UTC)
Herbert Hoover/Al Smith
[edit]Betty does impressions of politicians Herbert Hoover and Al Smith. Both ran for president in 1928 (Hoover won). Al Smith tried to run again for the Democratic party in 1932 but by the time the cartoon came out, the candidate was Franklin Roosevelt.
"Nobody" is a popular song with music by Bert Williams and lyrics by Alex Rogers, published in 1905. --119.11.9.117 (talk) 15:53, 7 October 2011 (UTC) MBG
- Quite correct about Betty morphing into Hoover and Smith (I thought that was in the article; apparently not at present; should go back in). The "Mr. Nobody" song in this cartoon is completely different from the famous Bert Williams number of 1905. -- Infrogmation (talk) 17:53, 7 October 2011 (UTC)
