add subpoena controversy?

Semi-protected edit request on 18 June 2020

Let’s add the part about things she DOESNT support . I think it’s only fair we publicly list these things to go with all the things it says she “Supports” at the top. Also the judge overruling her today I think is definitely something big to add. Would love to do it myself . Thank you 66.41.182.41 (talk) 19:12, 18 June 2020 (UTC)

Not done: it's not clear what changes you want to be made. Please mention the specific changes in a "change X to Y" format and provide a reliable source if appropriate. RandomCanadian (talk / contribs) 20:11, 18 June 2020 (UTC)

Could someone remove the line claiming that Mr Trump referred to her as "Ditzy" ? I don't care for the lady or her agenda but this is purely hearsay and even if true would have no bearing on her skills or lack of same. It's nothing but gossip. Who cares, not suitable for a site that claims to be encyclopedic. 203.160.86.146 (talk) 05:20, 5 July 2020 (UTC)

I removed it. Iamreallygoodatcheckers (talk) 06:35, 5 July 2020 (UTC)

Can we update her picture?

I might have to search harder for something more decrepit 82.69.102.60 (talk) 17:53, 15 August 2020 (UTC)

Prefer the first of these two. 82.69.102.60 (talk) 18:06, 15 August 2020 (UTC)

Making the subject appear "decrepit" is not a legitimate goal here, and the portrait we have is at least relatively recent, while she held her current position. --Nat Gertler (talk) 18:24, 15 August 2020 (UTC)

Apologies for the snark. It is still the case that there are pictures available under suitable licences that are more current than the one you are presently using. It's not my fault she is acting out Dorian Grey in real life. Presumably you don't bother updating science formulas when a better one comes along because the old one was about the same subject. I'll leave you alone. 82.69.102.60 (talk) 19:26, 15 August 2020 (UTC)

While "more current" isn't inherently our goal (our lead picture of Shirley Temple has her at 20, and not as a corpse), the images that you are pointing to are not more current than the one we have. They appear to be from DeVos's appearance at a CPAC event in February, 2017, as you will see from Skidmore's own dating of another picture of her in that same outfit, so presumably from the same event. (@Calibrador: want to correct me?) The image we are using is from April of that same year. --Nat Gertler (talk) 21:49, 15 August 2020 (UTC)

Can we rephrase "is the 11th and current United States Secretary of Education since 2017"? This sounds like we've had 11 people in this position since 2017. ———24.5.252.198 (talk) 17:30, 7 November 2020 (UTC)
