Graphics
[edit]I'd like to add a graphic, such as the one that can be found here, but I don't know how to deal with copyright issues. If anyone can legitmately add pix to this page, please do so! Djiann 19:45, 30 November 2006 (UTC)
OK, great, someone's editing! It seems you took exception to my statement that the music itself was not particularly noteworthy (as considered separately from the lyrics and the performance of it). If you're a huge fan of something it can be hard to hear anyone say something that sounds like criticism of it, but what we have now is that "the straightforward R&B-based hard rock style" is "noteworthy". Well, I still don't think it is: there are lots of bands that play similar music. What I feel set Beru apart are (1) the performance and (2) the lyrics. I won't re-edit your text, but will add: we should try not to let our personal feelings influence what we write here too much. An encyclopedia is supposed to be as objective as possible. Please do not delete
[edit]I created this article, and I believe it is worth keeping. Beru Revue were a major act on the live rock club circuit in Philadelphia in the 80s, with a large and passionate following. They never had a national hit, but their song "Hoods A Go-go" which is mentioned here, was a legit hit in the Philly radio market and possibly somewhat beyond, in the mid-Atlantic region. I don't get logged into WP very much lately, which is why I was late finding this deletion effort, but I would have been very bummed out had it actually been deleted. I will begin to work on improving the sourcing for it, and hopefully stave off any future attempt on its life. Himatsu Bushi (talk) 22:44, 16 April 2024 (UTC)
