Controversy section

[edit]

The controversy section about Dr. George seems unwarranted. WP:Criticism specifically recommends against having such a section at all. This particular one seems relatively unrelated to the subject of the article, in that it is about a particular personnel decision made at the university. While the person on the unfavorable side of that decision probably feels it is controversial, the section does not provide information to support that or to connect the action in question sufficiently to the article's subject.

The recommendation from WP:Criticism is that a piece of information like this could be included within a broader examination of the subject's approach to institutional policies on e.g. academic standards or shared governance. Those are topics where his role as provost or president matter, and--if those policies have been controversial--this incident may be an example.Phytism (talk) 16:19, 30 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Since there has been no comment in favor of keeping this section, I have deleted it. Phytism (talk) 22:30, 16 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]
