surrendered to preserve "the structure"...
[edit]- Frank was reportedly one of the few SS officers inducted into the rites at Wewelsburg Castle, and after the war claimed that he had arranged the eventual surrender of Berchtesgaden to prevent needless damage to the structure.
Wewelsburg is in the northwest of Germany; Berchtesgaden in the southeast. Is "the structure" supposed to mean the Berghof (which is in Obersalzberg, in Berchtesgaden)?
A reference would be good in any case.

My, this is bad!
[edit]Is the entire last section lifted from some unnamed source? I deleted the "last weekend" paragraph. Added many citation needed tags too. I even wonder if this guy is notable. The story was in the 8 December 2010 NYTimes. Let's see if anyone is coming to read this poor page. Paul, in Saudi (talk) 10:56, 8 December 2010 (UTC)

[edit]"In 1943, Frank was appointed head of security at the SS base of Obersalzberg, the beloved mountain residence of Adolf Hitler located in southern Germany. It was then that Frank was given a personal order by Hitler to kill Hermann Göring ..."
That is, in 1943 ? Did the author sleep during history lessons ? --Ft93110 (talk) 11:22, 8 December 2010 (UTC)
- I wonder if we ought to delete the whole thing. I am very concerned about some of these claims that are not backed up. How do I post a 'BLP notice? Paul, in Saudi (talk) 13:52, 8 December 2010 (UTC)
- I've removed the entire "Gould's Investigation", which is unreferenced and which contains extensive unattributed quotes, all in violation of WP:BLP, WP:RS, WP:V, and basic standards of good referencing practice. The remaining stub needs to be checked against the extant references; in particular the spectacular claim. Acroterion (talk) 16:22, 8 December 2010 (UTC)
- I'm not convinced of this person's notability either. A deletion debate might prove useful. Acroterion (talk) 16:32, 8 December 2010 (UTC)
