[edit]The following message was added to the article text by User:Bitti Cattaneo Della Volta. I have copied it here where it can be discussed.
NOTE: this image CANNOT be of Bernardo Tanucci, as he was never awarded the Order of the Golden Fleece (golden fleece near the right hand) and the Order of Malta (red band with white cross, near the left hand). It is a portrait of Domenico Cattaneo Della Volta (Naples, 1698 - Naples, 1782).
[signed: Bitti Cattaneo Della Volta]
The image in question is identified as Tanucci in the filename, but in its description as Domenico Cattaneo; and as you can see, it is also identified as Cattaneo on the Italian Wikipedia. I have removed the image. Fishal (talk) 23:41, 6 August 2020 (UTC)
Tanucci and the "Kingdom of the Two Sicilies"
[edit]The Kingdom of the Two Sicilies did not exist at all during Tanucci's lifetime. The entity was not created until 1816, to resolve a dispute with the Papacy over the feudal oath which was required of the ruler of the Kingdom of Naples.

Not connected with the government of the Kingdom of the Two Sicilies
[edit]The Kingdom of the Two Sicilies only exists from 1816 on. He died in the 1780s. It appears he was connected with both the government of the Kingdom of Sicily and the government of the Kingdom of Naples. We need to rewrite the lead to be historically accurate.John Pack Lambert (talk) 14:24, 13 August 2024 (UTC)
