I think there should be written in this man's biography something about how he is rabidly conservative, and HATES UNIONS, and loves to greedily hoard money for himself. Here are some quotes by Mr. Marcus from an October 2008 conference call (available on the Huffington Post website) while trying to sabotoge Obama's Employee Free Choice Act:

"Donations of hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of dollars to Republican senatorial campaigns were needed, they argued, to prevent America from turning "into France."

"If a retailer has not gotten involved in this, if he has not spent money on this election, if he has not sent money to [former Sen.] Norm Coleman and all these other guys, they should be shot. They should be thrown out their goddamn jobs," Marcus declared."

Mr. Bernie the corporate scumbag goes on to brag about how he "could be on a 350 foot yacht in the Meditteranean" but he was more hell bent on sabotaging American workers rights to unionize. Bernie Marcus is a GW Bush lover: no rights for workers, and BILLION DOLLAR bailouts for CEOs!

Greedy corporate scum like Bernie Marcus are what's wrong with the USA. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.12.71.191 (talk) 23:49, 27 January 2009 (UTC)

What is so outrageous about these corporate scum is they are FIRST IN LINE for government handouts (at taxpayer expense!), then what do they do with the money? They do this:

"Bank of America is now not only getting bailout money. They are lending their name to participate in a campaign to stop workers from having a majority sign up [provision]," said Stephen Lerner, Director of the Private Equity Project at SEIU. "The biggest corporations who have created the problem are, at the very same time, asking us to bail them out and then using that money to stop workers from improving their lives."

Bernie Marcus and friends use your taxpayer money to keep you down, disorganized, and working for shit wages! Meanwhile, Bernie boasts about his 350 foot yacht that all his CEO buddies are flopping around on. What a fucking outrage.

He is a welfare queen —Preceding unsigned comment added by 97.87.29.190 (talk) 22:35, 28 January 2009 (UTC)

Here's more grist for the mill: Bernie Marcus pays out $5.5 MILLION due to class discrimination lawsuit to Home Depot workers in Colorado:

HOME DEPOT TO PAY $5.5 MILLION TO RESOLVE CLASS DISCRIMINATION LAWSUIT IN COLORADO

EEOC Suit Alleged Retaliation and Harassment Based on Race, Sex, and National Origin

DENVER - The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) today announced the simultaneous filing and resolution of a class-wide discrimination and retaliation lawsuit against Atlanta-based Home Depot, U.S.A., Inc., on behalf of employees in the company's Colorado stores (Civil Action No. 04 D 1776; U.S. District of Colorado).

If the settlement is approved by a U.S. District Judge in Colorado, Home Depot will pay $5.5 million to current and former employees, as well as significant injunctive relief. The EEOC lawsuit alleges that in Home Depot's Colorado stores, there was a hostile work environment based on gender, race, and national origin, and that the company retaliated against employees who complained about discrimination.

"We commend Home Depot for working cooperatively with us to resolve this case," said Joseph H. Mitchell, Regional Attorney in the EEOC's Denver District Office. "Without the willingness of Home Depot to mediate and bring prompt closure, this case could have taken years to litigate. Instead, the parties were able to work collaboratively to bring this matter to an amicable resolution that satisfied the interests of all the parties concerned."

Clearly Home Depot and Mr. Marcus are not forthright with the American public and with its employees. "Hostile work environment", eh? After 8 years of Bush that pretty much sums up having a job in USA. Except for Bernie and CEO friends...or in other words the USA we have now is in truth the land of SOCIALISM FOR THE RICH. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.12.71.191 (talk) 02:27, 29 January 2009 (UTC)

Point of view

I went through and cut down some of the stuff that seemed a little POV in the article. His politics are important to include, but I thought that there was undue weight given to all of that. I also am removing the tag because it seems like this was the stuff that the tag was added for, and now his politics actually are included in the article. 2nd paragraph of Career

Seems like it should be in a political views section like Al Sharpton has.--MattyMetalFan (talk) 01:32, 15 September 2015 (UTC)
