An editor proposed merging the Berkeley school of political theory into the UC Berkeley article. This is an inappropriate merge proposal. The Berkeley school of political theory is a school of THOUGHT, not a sub-unit of UC Berkeley. As a school of thought, it has had theorists from all over the world -- it just is named after Berkeley because some of the original creators were there. But it is not part of Berkeley. See, for instance, the Chicago school of economics, which is so named because it comes from the University of Chicago. .... I removed the MERGE tag per Template:Merge guidelines, since this is not the kind of merge that is appropriate (sub-units of an organization, for instance). --Lquilter (talk) 18:03, 19 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for clarification! I'm not an expert on this subject, so I was curious if it might make sense to rename the title of the article to something like "Berkeley school of political theory (movement)" or "Berkeley school of political theory (philosophy)" or something like that just to avoid any further confusion.
