[edit]I've added Helge Ingstad to the list of notable former students for his part in the first discovery of a Viking settlement in America. (Have there been more discoveries? I don't know). A clip from Bergens Tidende is added as a reference to prove he was a former student.
Note: My nick does not mean that I'm related to the Ingstads. Barnebarnet 00:56, 9 November 2006 (UTC)

Assessment
[edit]I have reverted the importance rating to high as per the original assessment. Ratings are necessarily subjective and can only be based on the content of existing articles. If there is evidence to justify the top importance claim (eg, lots of internationally renowned alumni, prime ministers, royalty, etc., referenced claims to the school's fame and prestige) please ask for a re-assessment at Wikipedia:WikiProject Schools/Assessment. Trying to reference where I went to school
[edit]I see that my name is in the list of alumni here, with a "fact" tag next to it. That looks ugly....
I'm pretty sure I went to that school:-) - but Google claims that the fact is only published in one place that might be considered a Reliable Source: [1], an article I can't access. Can someone with an IEEE login verify that it says what I told it to say, and use that as a source? --Alvestrand (talk) 23:17, 27 February 2008 (UTC)
Re-assess
[edit]I've now upgraded the article to top importance on a par with Oslo katedralskole. The article is developing very well since I last looked at it. The school has a very impressive list of alumni. The two schools seem to be equally important. Dahliarose (talk) 19:19, 24 September 2008 (UTC)
Age of the gym seems wrong
[edit]The article has: "In 1869 the school's gyms were built". If it was referring to the gyms that were there when I attended in the 1970s, I think it's a century off; the gyms are typically 1960s architecture.
However, the sentence continues "and the same year the school changed its name from "Bergen Latinskole" to its present "Bergen katedralskole", which seems about the right year.
Can someone with access to the school's documented history fix this? --Alvestrand (talk) 07:01, 21 September 2009 (UTC)
