List of derivatives
[edit]@Smokefoot:, Can you explain why you had removed the list of benzamide derivatives in this edit? I think you may have thought that lists are meant for list-class articles, but this list is not that long, at least in the desktop version. —CrafterNova [ TALK ] [ CONT ] 17:24, 11 October 2022 (UTC)
- First, thanks for asking. Looks like a dumb move on my part. I was probably thinking that it would be impossible to list all benzamides. But the list is more specific. Thanks for pointing out this issue. --Smokefoot (talk) 20:25, 11 October 2022 (UTC)
- @Smokefoot: No problem. If the list becomes too long,
there are 2 possibilities:- the list can be copied and pasted into a list of chemical derivatives in a section named benzamides. If it is done so, list of chemical derivatives can be incorporated into the Chemistry section of List of lists of lists.
- the list can be copied into Benzamides which can be expanded into an article about benzamides as a class of organic compounds in general. —CrafterNova [ TALK ] [ CONT ] 07:00, 12 October 2022 (UTC)
- IIRC, this type of uncited/non-RS-cited list is typical of a certain LTA. If there are chemicals that are structurally in the "benzamides" class, then that sounds like a good use of a category (I dislike list-of for mindless substructure-analysis but others might prefer that approach). If there are a secondary-source citable subset that are of interest for some reason, then that needs the cite in order to cherry-pick them into an article. DMacks (talk) 15:35, 15 November 2023 (UTC)
