When did Corydon become independent of the church?
[edit]The page currently reads that Hubbard separated Corydon from his mission "Following raids on greater organization by the FBI in 1976." I corrected this because the raid was not until July 1977. But now I read in A Piece of Blue Sky that the Mission Holder Conference was not until 1982.
During 1982, Scientology Missions International, which oversaw the activities of Missions, issued new contracts to Mission Holders. In the words of Mission Holder Bent Corydon, "we were quickly confronted with new articles to sign, which would essentially take away all our legal autonomy as a separate corporation. All our corporate books were removed .... About a month after most of us had signed these articles we were called to the Mission Holders' Conference."
Until that time, Corydon was still with the official church. Do you know where this 1976 date came from? Slade Farney (talk) 19:13, 21 April 2015 (UTC)
- Oh, I see, this statement appears on Gayle Brandeis' page. She's kind of off the wall, isn't she? Slade Farney (talk) 19:13, 21 April 2015 (UTC)
- I don't see anything "off the wall" about it. I've updated to clarify that he was still part of the church as of 1982. Grayfell (talk) 02:23, 22 April 2015 (UTC)
1977 the Finance Police arrived at the missions. The rest is history. Aloha Sand Can (talk) 16:49, 13 June 2017 (UTC)
