I see an external link to http://www.pritzkermilitary.org/whats_on/pritzker-military-presents/front-center-john-callaway-battle-peace/ which asks for money to view a video. I also notice that the person who I believe started this article was an intern at the same institution: User:MohnJcIntyre. I not 100% certain this is inappropriate, but it appears that way. I do not wish to dive into policies or guidelines at this moment. Biosthmors (talk) pls notify me (i.e. {{U}}) while signing a reply, thx 14:15, 5 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I have removed this and I will ask to see if anyone related has comments. WP:EL is a link to that guideline, for what it's worth. WP:COI would apply I imagine as well. Biosthmors (talk) pls notify me (i.e. {{U}}) while signing a reply, thx 14:24, 5 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for removing the link. Some of PMML's video content is free while other content requires PMML membership just like content from an online database like EBSCO. In those cases, a "Subscription may be required" notice would have been appropriate. PMML's interns usually link to the free content. But some of that content changes over time. You're welcome TeriEmbrey and thank you for the reply. I did find "in line with Wikipedia policies, you should avoid linking to a site that you own, maintain, or represent—even if Wikipedia guidelines seem to imply that it may otherwise be linked" at WP:ADV (which is a part of WP:EL). Therefore, please make sure PMML's interns do not add any links to PMML's websites in the external links section. In an ideal world, someone would go back and remove any of those links that have already been made. I am curious if an established Wikipedia/GLAM-affiliated editor helped train you. If so, maybe you could notify them of this discussion so that the person who might "train the trainers" could make sure this is clear. Thank you! Kind regards. I don't think the link in question technically violates WP:EL, but it seems like a matter of good practise and ethics not to use it. Best, FoCuS contribs; talk to me! 13:52, 7 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]
