COI
[edit]I took out the obvious recent WP:COI spammy content. Comments? Dicklyon (talk) 06:50, 5 May 2009 (UTC)
I am the originator of this page. Dick, can you please explain the COI? I believe I know why, but would like to confirm. I'd like to know how we can fix this. Thanks for your assistance. BMoorePaint (talk) 12:34, 26 June 2009 (UTC)
- I'm assuming that you wouldn't have chosen handle "BMoorePaint" if you didn't have an interest in promoting that company or its products, which is not appropriate here. Let me know if I've misinterpreted. You can work around any potential conflict of interest by being open about your interests and by not adding promotional material. If you want to add something that might appear to be in a coi relationship, you can instead ask on the talk page and let other editors decide. Also, make sure anything you add cites a reliable source for verification (see WP:V and WP:RS); your inside or hearsay knowledge of the company's products and policies is not sufficient to add such things to the article. Dicklyon (talk) 05:48, 27 June 2009 (UTC)
Thank you for the clarification. Yes, I am an employee of Benjamin Moore. I created the BMoorePaint handle in an effort to remain open and transparent. It is not our intention to promote products or use Wikipedia as a sales tool, but to just provide some background on the company's products and history. I am reviewing the edits made by all the editors thus far and will resubmit on the talk page with any heresay knowledge and promotional material removed. BMoorePaint (talk) 12:52, 30 June 2009 (UTC)
Removal of copyrighted text
[edit]I just removed some large amounts of copyrighted text that were cut/paste copies from http://www.benjaminmoore.com/en-us/for-your-home/then-now-always and http://www.benjaminmoore.com/en-ca/for-your-home/about-us - (see diff).
The article is a stub and needs to be expanded, preferably with some third party reliable sources. Unfortunately, the text that was originally here was a clear copyright violation so had to be removed. --- Barek (talk • contribs) - 17:55, 14 July 2011 (UTC)
Add Info About Exterior Paint
[edit]The references section only lists links about Benjamin Moore Interior Paint. The article needs to discuss their exterior paints as well. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.170.106.119 (talk) 18:25, 15 September 2012 (UTC)
- Well, maybe. Do you have any reliable sources that discuss their exterior paints? Because the vast majority of them seem to focus on the interior ones, and we need such sources to add content appropriately. I, Jethrobot drop me a line (note: not a bot!) 07:18, 16 September 2012 (UTC)
