family background
[edit]The subject of the article may or may not be related to Michael Chertoff, but it is not an "attack" to say so, and it is not meaningful to say that it only conspiracy theorists who say so, being as the assertion apparently comes from his mother, Judy Dargan. I agree with the above, and I would further ask why the journalist Christopher Bolyn's claims about Benjamin Chertoff's familial relationship with Michael Chertoff are not openly juxtaposed with Benjamin Chertoff's (partial) denial of same, so that the reader can make his/her own mind up on the matter. This does seem like blatant bias, and it can hardly be for legal reasons since, on the one hand, Chertoff does leave open the possibility that a relationship might exist, while on the other, you are certainly implying (by not specifically reporting it) that Bolyn is lying when he says that Chertoff's mother confirmed the relationship.
Another very serious deficiency in this article is that the biography begins with Benjamin Chertoff's career in magazine journalism. There is not a word about his academic background from which a reader might be able to judge his fitness to be described as an "expert" (as he and his fellow journalists at Popular Mechanics frquently are) in the scientific areas around which debates about 9-11 mostly revolve. Is this absence of information due to the fact that Chertoff is as coy about his academic history as he is about family relationships, or may we deduce collusion by the article's author due to ideological empathy (either of the "9-11 conspiracy theorists are nuts who don't deserve to have such information" variety, or perhaps something rather more sinister)?
