Possibly made in the ‘70s: The place is a small village. It begins with the suicide of a husband. Presently, the *wife is raped by the.chief of police.
She becomes pregnant, and he swears her to secrecy due to his position. Later a troupe of traveling actors come to town.. one of them becomes completely enamored with this *widow
and she eventually falls for him as well - inciting jealousy & rage in the police chief...etc.

The film “Putney Swope” 1969 I taped and watched in its entirety in May 2022. I didn’t find it interesting or well written or filmed but because of it being filmed in 1969 I decided to watch it in its entirety. Has anyone that has anything to do with TCM ever watched this film ? I am not Jewish but I was disgusted and appalled that this was shown. An actor said, “it’s getting cool in here. Throw another Jew on the fire” 2604:2D80:617C:A500:4159:D828:DE52:6D3E (talk) 00:52, 4 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
