Trivia
[edit]I figure these are probably the most salvageable pieces of information from the Trivia section... If anyone else thinks that these are pertinent enough(and that none of the others are), I'll write them into the main article.(unless someone else does first)
- Maller was the first local Los Angeles sports radio host to interview Mike Piazza after his trade from the Dodgers on May 15 1998.
(Piazza was a star player in one of the biggest trades of the decade)
- Maller has appeared in over 30 episodes of the "Sports List" on Fox Sports Net.
(Not so much the number of episodes he was in, but that he was on the show at all)
- One of Ben's radio role models growing up in the LA area was legendary sportscaster Jim Healy.
(His influences)
- Ben's former weekend co-host at FSR Jason Smith now hosts a show at rival ESPN Radio
- Maller's sidekick on the famous "Ben & Dave show," Dave Smith is now a host at rival Sporting News Radio
- Big Ben worked with Patrick O'Neal who is now a popular anchor on FSN West
- Ben briefly hosted a show with former MSG Network personality Bob Page
- Maller hosted a show during the 2004 and 2005 NCAA Tournament's with Shaquille O'Neal's college coach at LSU Dale Brown (basketball).
(The above five, collectively, for shows he's worked on, and people he's worked with) --68.5.95.211 (talk) 01:00, 25 May 2008 (UTC)
I think it should be mentioned that Ben lost about 200 lbs all on his own (no surgery). Quite an accomplishment! Also, the article refers to him once as "Big Ben" without ever explaining that that is his nickname, which was started during his heavier years. Further, his show is now called The Ben Maller Show and his "Ben and the Coin" is "Benny and the Penny"; "Who Am I?" is now "Cite the Bite." — Preceding unsigned comment added by 206.255.200.9 (talk) 00:48, 3 February 2013 (UTC)
- Hello there. These biographical trivia facts are informative and relevant to the article, however per Wikipedia guidelines, they should be integrated into the main biography rather than in a separate "Trivia" section. --Djrun (talk) 16:52, 19 April 2009 (UTC)
