Reviewer: Zanimum (talk · contribs) 20:53, 11 December 2012 (UTC) I'll start this review tonight, I'm fairly well versed in Disney. (I actually was taught by the lead animator for Belle in Enchanted Christmas.) -- Zanimum (talk) 20:53, 11 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

  • "Belle (Ashman/Menken)", being Oscar nominated, should be referenced somewhere in the article.
  • The entire appearances section needs references, and a bit of rewriting for the text. More on that later, I might rewrite a bit myself.
  • You only reference the Encyclopedia of Walt Disney's animated characters once... were you only viewing it via a fragment preview on Google Books? I'll have to look at the entry in my copy.

Okay, I'll actually read this through, get back to you. These are just what jumped out in a cursory glance. -- Zanimum (talk) 02:26, 12 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

One more... Gaston is only mentioned for his rampage on the castle, you don't mention his fruitless courting of Belle. He could have any woman he wants, but chooses the woman he can't win over the attention of. -- Zanimum (talk) 02:28, 12 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

December 17 review

[edit]
  • Lead
    • I've done a bit more summarizing here.
  • Development:
    • Voice: Have they ever said why Paige O'Hara was replaced? Not critical, and I personally can't find anything beyond forum comments.
      • I remember reading something online once about O'Hara now sounding too old to voice Belle, but I forgot the source. I'll look it up and include it if I can, but I'm not making a promise.
        • That makes sense. I know she had commented that she'd be too old for the stage version, so that's likely it. If you find it, wonderful; if not, that's fine too. -- Zanimum (talk)
    • In general, Development is a very strong section.
  • Appearances
    • Beauty and the Beast: I've added the Encyclopedia of Disney Characters ref to the whole section, as all of those details can be confirmed in this book.
    • Any of the midquels need to have sources; I've added "fact" tags where I'm requesting citations of the videos.
  • In other media
    • Feel free to change the image of Belle, I've uploaded a variety of poses and performers at Disneyland.
    • Can we switch ref 15 to something else? A merchandise page is okay for the variety of products, but not okay to prove she's an official member.
      • Done. I didn't get rid of the merchandise reference, but I added the official Disney Princess website as a source; Belle is included alongside the other nine princesses.--Changedforbetter (talk) 01:57, 20 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
        • I guess that'll work for a GA, as Disney isn't abandoning the Disney Princesses line any time too soon, I'm guessing. Ultimately, to take the article to a GA status, you'd need a reference from LicenseMag, NYT, something like that. -- Zanimum (talk)
    • We need a ref for her appearances in HoM. IMDb? Not good enough source for a FA, but good enough for a GA.
  • Reception and legacy
  • Therefore...?
  • So what I'm understanding is you believe this article is well on its way to GA status if I find a few more sources her Disney Princess status, the sequels and her appearances in House of Mouse. Am I correct? --Changedforbetter (talk) 23:41, 17 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, definitely. If you can find anything as citation for the two television series, you'll have earned the green "+". It started out in much better shape than another GAN I'm reviewing, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, and given that Belle as a solitary character has been given less ink than an entire landmark film, you've done quite well in sourcing things. -- Zanimum (talk) 01:33, 19 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Congrats, I'm quite impressed by the improvements to the article since the GAN process started, and it's now firmly GA status. I've just promoted it. -- Zanimum (talk) 20:34, 21 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you so much! Considering the amount of work I've done on this page, I am truly grateful!--Changedforbetter (talk) 20:51, 21 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
