Helicopters?

[edit]

The article states that the airforce operates all "aircraft" of the Belarusian armed forces, so i would take it that theres no separate army aviation to operate any helicopters, yet theres no mention of any in this article, and also all in all the whole list of operated types seem to be quite incomplete and maybe in accurate, like they would be only operating 6 jet trainer aircraft yet have these relatively large numbers of fighter, strike and attack aircrafts. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 62.248.159.240 (talk) 04:40, August 27, 2007 (UTC)

The current aircraft inventories have recently been updated with the best info that I could find. Some of the types of aircraft still need reference links verifying their actual existence, but most of those type of aircraft aren't armed anyways & may have been (or still might be) operated by the Belarusian civilian airline. 05:52, 16 December 2012 (UTC)

Post Soviet history

[edit]

Did Belarus inherit any part of the USSR Air Force? Perhaps this should be in the article. 118.90.99.150 (talk) 10:21, 25 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

--mrg3105 (comms) ♠02:00, 28 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Based on the Google Translate translation of the above Russian, I don't think that you got an answer to your original question, which is yes...Belarus basically got all of its original aircraft from the old Soviet Union or its satellite nations. Updated aircraft totals are in the article now. Guy1890 (talk) 05:52, 16 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Radom Air Show crash, one Su-27 destoryed.

[edit]

One Belorussian Su-27 crashed today (30th August 2009) at the air show in Radom. The machine hit the ground and exploaded, both pilots were killed.

I reduced the listed the number of operational Su-27s from 14 to 13 with a question mark (I'm not sure if was a regular Su-27 or one of the Su-27UBs that crashed).

If anyone has any info on what type was the crashed Su-27, please edit the article and either remove my question mark, or bring the number of Su-27s back to 14 and reduce the Su-27UBs to 2. (Wilhelm Klave (talk) 16:34, 30 August 2009 (UTC))[reply]

Su-27UB crushed. Su-27UBM1 (modernized version) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 178.120.160.167 (talk) 21:14, 16 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

It doesn't really matter anymore, since Belarus just recently retired all of their remaining Su-27s. Guy1890 (talk) 05:52, 16 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Air bases

[edit]

Specialy for Csbiggers

The plan you gave the link to is from August of 2010. The plan has been already implemented and the number of air bases in Belarus has been reduced to 3. ToiSamy (talk) 18:01, 22 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

_____

They did not close any of those other air bases, they are still in use. The MoD only reorganized their air bases and air structure resulting in moving and consolidating certain air assets. Please stop changing this if you do not know what you're talking about. According to your changes, you want to leave out the 181st at Pruzany with their entire HIP-HIND deployments, the 206th training base with the L-39 Albatros trainers and MiG simulators, the 927th which is reported to be a UAV training base. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Csbiggers (talkcontribs) 18:22, 22 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Ross airbase is closed and united with Lida airbase. The united airbase is known as 116th guard assault airbase. There is no more 206th airbase. The 206th training center has been organized recently and it is situated in Lida too. ToiSamy (talk) 19:45, 22 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
As well there is no 927th airbase anymore. The aircrafts and personnel were moved to Baranovichi and united with 61th airbase. In Bereza was opened '927th center for training and the use of UAVs', but it not an airbase! ToiSamy (talk) 20:02, 22 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

In the section organization is mentioned that one base has SU-27... later in the article it is mentioned that Belarus does not operate SU-27 anymore so probably that hint should be removed. — Preceding unsigned comment added by SimonLiebing (talkcontribs) 18:43, 19 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
