Trivia Section
[edit]It says that "the comic is unpopular in India". By that, is it talking about the comic debuting the Beefeater, his appearance in 52, or the comic context on Uncyclopedia? 82.36.28.41 (talk) 15:27, 17 January 2008 (UTC)
- God only knows. I've read his appereance in 52, nothing to do with India. I vaguely recall -someone- getting pissy when I messed with the trivia section before... Lots42 (talk) 02:59, 18 January 2008 (UTC)
- I see. Actually looking at the history helps when I want to recall past events concerning the article. I deleted it, and well, the history comments speak for themselves. Lots42 (talk) 03:01, 18 January 2008 (UTC)
Scathing references
[edit]I remember there was a reference to The Beefeater on TV.com that was also quite scathing, but not so much so as the Uncyclopedia reference. Is there any point in bringing that reference in? User:Crablogger 12:52, June 11 2007 (GMT)
- Generally speaking, other Wikis don't count as reliable sources, so I'd say no. --GentlemanGhost 08:27, 12 June 2007 (UTC)
Fair use rationale for Image:Beef Eater.jpg
[edit]Image:Beef Eater.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Character in General
[edit]- Looking at this character, compared to other British DC characters like Manchester Black or Superman: True Brit, I get the distinct impression that DC aren't taking the idea of British superheroes very seriously. Any thoughts? Crablogger (talk) 07:48, 8 May 2008 (UTC)
- True Brit and Beefeater aren't MEANT to be taken seriously. It's called 'having a laugh'. Lots42 (talk) 13:43, 8 May 2008 (UTC)
- Maybe so, but I see his point. Nearly all the British characters in DC are usually spoofs, villains or anti-heroes. Cue the controversy about V for Vendetta. 82.36.28.41 (talk) 10:53, 9 May 2008 (UTC)
- I think we have veered off into unwanted-type discussion. Wikipedia encourages talk about the -article- and how to improve it. Lack of British role-models doesn't seem to quite work in that regard. Lots42 (talk) 11:20, 9 May 2008 (UTC)
- You're right. Sorry about that. 82.36.28.41 (talk) 05:08, 11 May 2008 (UTC)
