Wichita is the correct spelling of the city. Someone should edit this for obvious reasons.

Done (but you could have done it yourself) - Adrian Pingstone 10:21, 27 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

This article is badly out of date - Raytheon sold the company, which is stated in one place, but refuted in another. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.96.78.217 (talk) 14:24, 18 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Apollo 13

[edit]

Is it really "well known" as the manufacturer of the Apollo 13 tanks? I have a more than casual interest in the Apollo program and didn't know that... Janm67 (talk) 20:26, 2 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Their tank was out of spec and believed to be the cause of the Apollo 13 problem. Lambedan (talk) 02:40, 14 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Beechcraft article edit to overview section

[edit]

According to the Hawker Beechcraft article (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hawker_Beechcraft), the mention, "it [Beechcraft] has been a unit of Hawker Beechcraft since 2007," is incorrect. It should state 2006. Would you agree with that suggestion? Ericacenci (talk) 20:31, 29 March 2010 (UTC)Ericacenci[reply]

Fixed! - Ahunt (talk) 00:30, 30 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you!

Breaking News - Textron buying Beechcraft

[edit]

Twitters that FT says that Textron has purchased Beechcraft, but no URL yet. Georgewilliamherbert (talk) 23:56, 20 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Try Report: Beechcraft sold to Textron for $1.4 billion, Textron Said to Buy Beechcraft for Nearly $1.4 Billion, Beechcraft nears $1.4bn sale to Textron, Textron to buy Beechcraft for $1.4 billion: report, Report: Cessna Owner Textron Flies Away With Beechcraft for $1.4B. - BilCat (talk) 00:15, 21 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Note that this is just a rumor at this point, as, according to the reports, neither Textron nor Beechcraft have confirmed this. - BilCat (talk) 00:43, 21 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]
This is not unexpected as the company has been up for sale for a while AVweb article from October 2013. We just need to keep an eye out for something more substantial than "rumour-level" for the article! - Ahunt (talk) 14:11, 21 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]
AVweb has now published this story, but it is still at "rumour" level and nothing has been conformed by either party potentially involved. I guess we have to keep looking for some confirmation or denial. - Ahunt (talk) 14:32, 23 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The deal was officially been announced on Dec 26. See Textron buys Beechcraft in $1.4 billion deal and Textron to buy Beechcraft parent for $1.4bn. The deal does include suuport for the Hawker jet line. - BilCat (talk) 03:00, 27 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

AVweb got the story too! - Ahunt (talk) 11:30, 27 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Other Founders

[edit]

The founders of record are Walter Beech, Olive Ann Beech, Ted Wells, K.K. Shaul, and C.G. Yankey. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 151.165.215.253 (talk) 20:32, 22 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Please cite a reliable published source for these claims per WP:RS. Thanks. - BilCat (talk) 01:12, 23 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Source added. It should be noted that there are conflicts between sources on this subject. Ed Phillips is an aircraft historian and his books go into far more detail than most that only repeat revisionist history. Beechcraft Heritage Museum also shows the founders as corrected. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Seapuppy9 (talkcontribs)
