Fire Island

[edit]

A paragraph about a Twitter shitstorm relating to the film Fire Island has been added to the "Criticism" section by InEventOf. In my view, this is inappropriate. We are an encyclopedia, not a social media gossip website, and not everything that happens on Twitter related to an article subject and is covered by media merits a mention in the article. See WP:NOTNEWS. What do others think? Sandstein 15:01, 9 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

This event received a TON of media coverage, though. Also, she supposedly changed the Bechdel test in response. I'm not sure it matters if the source of the event was on Twitter, as opposed to anything else. I'm not sure if the criticism section is the right place, though it might be, but this certainly warrants inclusion in my view. Pyrrho the Skipper (talk) 15:36, 9 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Regarding this, I'm not sure that everybody will get that Bechdel made fun of the controversy by adding a ridiculous corollary. And additionally, I don't know whether the joke should be mentioned in an encyclopedia (and whether that should be done in article or in the sources) or whether the reasoning and conclusion should be stated. 94.217.102.221 (talk) 00:22, 20 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Fyi where I got this information from

[edit]

"However, since 2018, 4 best picture winners have passed the Bechdel test, while the 2019 winner, Green Book did not pass." I don't have a source for this because I compiled this fact up by googling all the Best Picture Winners since 2018, then I went onto the Bechdel test website and searched up if all the films passed or failed.
