"The word 'Beaumont' means 'beautiful hill/mountain' " - indeed and 'Ley' seems to mean a an area of open ground. But it surely can't be a coincidence that the first Earls of Leicester were the Beaumont family who appear to get their name from Beaumont-le-Roger in Normandy. 82.2.205.111 (talk) 22:34, 11 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
