I did a minimal change in the rule of thumb.

But I signal two problems that I cannot fix:

in the figure b is declared the beam but the text says that it is the watereline beam.

The start of the incipit is unhappy: the beam b is declared the maximum tout-court but then bmax sems the same maximum, i.e. b=bmax ... perhaps the problem is that bmax and b are significantly different for an aircraft carrier whose angled flight deck makes the ship strongly asymmetrical (and the extreme points are at different distance from the bow), but if so this should be stated ... I understand perfectly that to be mathematically rigorous with an asymmetric ship would result in a heavy text (define the axis, the perpendicular to it, the parallel planes) but something should be done
