Members and Former Members sections
[edit]Are these sections needed when this information is present in the infobox? If not, or if there is no response, they should be deleted. Dokijic 12:28, 19 September 2006 (UTC)
- They include who plays what. Though the article itself also mentions this. 149.159.113.205 07:20, 25 September 2006 (UTC)
- That makes sense really :) Dokijic 09:28, 26 September 2006 (UTC)
Karen O comparisson
[edit]While I'm certain a quick search would pull up plenty of Karen O comparisons, how is either woman's stage presence "non-traditional" ? What tradition are they defying (acts like The Supremes? Tiffany? Yoko Ono?) and was it ever really applied in the punk/garage rock setting? We could as easily say Jemina is following the long tradition of frontwomen like Patti Smith. 149.159.113.205 07:20, 25 September 2006 (UTC)
Not Rocket Science?

Fair use rationale for Image:Byop newpromo.jpg
[edit]Image:Byop newpromo.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

whats up with the bio?
[edit]it reads like it was pulled directly from a magazine and cites absouletly no sources. im not an avid article editor but this seems like a pretty major oversight. -adum —Preceding unsigned comment added by 216.125.160.51 (talk) 22:22, 21 April 2008 (UTC)
External links review
[edit]The "External links" section was flagged for reviewing for having too many articles. The list of links was as follows:
* [http://www.beyourownpet.net/ Official website] * [http://www.musictoday.com/redirect/bounce.asp?cid=23145 Official Merchandise Store] * {{myspace|beyourownpetmusic|Be Your Own Pet}} * [http://www.ecstaticpeace.com/artist.php?id=2 Be Your Own Pet] at [Ecstatic Peace Records & Tapes] * [http://www.infinitycat.com/byop.html Be Your Own Pet] at [http://www.infinitycat.com/ Infinity Cat] * [http://xlrecordings.com/beyourownpet/ Be Your Own Pet] at [[XL Recordings]] * [http://www.rollingstone.com/news/story/_/id/7092474 Be Your Own Pet] at ''[[Rolling Stone]]'' * [http://www.last.fm/music/Be+Your+Own+Pet Be Your Own Pet] at [http://www.last.fm LastFM] * [http://www.badvibes.net/viewArticle.asp?article=1616736037 Be Your Own Pet interview] at Badvibes.net * [http://www.culturebully.com/culture-bully-exclusive-qa-jemina-pearl-jonas-stein-from-be-your-own-pet 2006 Interview with Jemina & Jonas] * [http://www.roxwel.com/player/makingofbeyourownpetbicyclebicycleyouaremybicycle.html "Bicycle, Bicycle, You Are My Bicycle" artist commentary] * [http://comfortcomes.com/?page=reviews&id=2201 Get Awkward Album Review]
I have reviewed these links to see which are worthy of being kept in the article and which aren't.
- Removed
- "Official Merchandise Store" - Reachable from "Official website"
- "Ecstatic Peace Records" - Little additional information
- "Infinity Cat" - 404 Error
- "XL Recordings" - Long list, not particularly useful information
- "Rolling Stone" - Single article, more like a source than a useful link
- "Bad Vibes", "Interview with Jemina & Jones" - Ditto
- "artist commentary" - Single video. Could be used as a reference
- "Album Review" - Doesn't seem to be specifically about this band
- Kept
- "Official website" - Most obvious link
- "Myspace" - Recognised website for artists to publish music and communicate with fans. Arguably a useful entity.
- "LastFM" - Recognised website for finding music by and information about artists
Whilst you may not agree specifically with some of these choices, I don't think you can argue that this article didn't have too many links. It took someone too make some decisions, but it's at least a start. Feel free to change some of these new external links, but please don't just revert them all back without reasoning.
