An expert on the club is needed. Kingjeff 21:09, 18 February 2006 (UTC)
- It just underwent a major clean-up. What specifically needs to be addressed? Wiggy! 23:05, 18 February 2006 (UTC)
Just growth of the article. If you don't think the template isn't warranted then feel free to remove it. Kingjeff 23:08, 18 February 2006 (UTC)
Hmm, I am myself a fan of this club and I don't think there is much to add to this article and it's also neutral and fair (that isn't really normal for articles about this club, trust me). The only thing that could be mentioned is that nowadays as Reiner Calmund is gone the club has to save money, but this isn't necessary. I will remove the template within a week if nobody answers me back. 84.60.145.119 22:14, 12 April 2006 (UTC) I can help. But my english is not so god. If you have questions I can help. I have access to the archive of the club and can help with research. --Fredymutz (talk) 23:42, 13 January 2021 (UTC)

Historical chart of Bayer Leverkusen league performance after WWII
[edit]This graphic is wrong. The Oberliga was the first Division in germany until the foundation of the Bundesliga in 1963. Leverkusen moved from the secound Division (called II. Division West) to the first division (called Oberliga West) in 1951. So the Oberliga have to be at the same height like the Bundesliga and the II. Division at the same height like 2nd Bundesliga and Regionalliga West (until the foundation of the 2nd Bundesliga). This graphic in the same style for the club KFC Uerdingen is right: https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/d/d6/KFC_Uerdingen_Performance_Chart.png/800px-KFC_Uerdingen_Performance_Chart.png
The 04
[edit]I'm curious; why the "04" in the name? -- Hongooi 11:30, 29 June 2006 (UTC)
- The club was founded July 1, 1904. Typical for German clubs to be named this way. Wiggy! 12:04, 29 June 2006 (UTC)
'ultra-culture'
[edit]Hello all, I just want to say, that the first ultra-group in germany was founded in 1986 by the members of 'Fortuna Eagles'. They belong to the SC Fortuna Köln, a club from cologne which played long times in the 'Zweite Bundesliga'. But I think, that the ultras from Leverkusen were the first so-called-group in the 'Bundesliga'. Greetings from Bornheim (Germany)!!!
PS: Sorry for my bad english ;-)
In germany they normaly called the first Bundesliga only 'Bundesliga'. Leverkusens ultra group was the first in the first Bundesliga (called Bundesliga). --Fredymutz (talk) 23:42, 13 January 2021 (UTC)
Away colors shown incorrectly (as of Feb. 2008)
[edit]The current away colors for Leverkusen are white with wide gold "fading" stripes for the jersey (fade from top to bottom) with red adidas shoulder stripes, and white with gold accents (incl. red adidas stripes) for the shorts, and white socks with gold striping. (These can be viewed in various places, including www.bayer04.de.)
The version shown now in the article/infobox is wrong -- the reader would get the impression that the shirt is similar to the 1988 UEFA Cup season, but the new shirt is very different from that. The shorts as shown are pretty close to the reality (need the red side stripes, though!), but the socks are also quite wrong.
Their 3rd colors are black with yellow (as worn recently in the UEFA Cup and in the BL match in Cottbus) in a pattern similar to the one shown for the 2006 blue-with-white away colors.
Unfortunately, I haven't the faintest idea how the little uniform thingies are put into the infobox, so I can't correct this myself. Can anyone help? Jtnet (talk) 10:49, 14 February 2008 (UTC)
The Almost Champions - "Bayer Neverkusen"
[edit]You might like to add the nickname "Bayer Neverkusen", which appeared even before the loss in the Champions League final: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/champions_league/1985153.stm Thanks Kvsh5 (talk) 15:07, 4 October 2009 (UTC)

Sascha Lewandowski
[edit]I wonder why you have long been refusing to mention his name? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 124.25.192.170 (talk) 01:05, 16 May 2012 (UTC)
- Lewandowski really needs to be named. He is the one of the so-called "Hyypidowski" duo that actually has a valid coaching licence for the Bundesliga, Hyypiä couldn't even be the sole team manager. According to their own statements, they consider themselves equal partners, so Hyypiä is not the "actual" team manager and Lewandowski only his assistant or something. --Laryngoskop (talk) 21:45, 18 August 2012 (UTC)
More Famous Players
[edit]Why are there 3 Iranian players listed? They have no relevance to the club's history whatsoever and I truly believe none of them is real famous outside of Iran... with all due respect they are no Karimi, Hashemian, Bagheri, or Ali Daei. Having said this they are not and never were famous in Leverkusen and the Bundesliga. They can be mentioned in the Iranian versions (of Wikipedia) about Bayer Leverkusen but not the English version. Again, with all due respect to these players and the Iranian players. --123.20.93.103 (talk) 17:09, 29 August 2012 (UTC)
Not to be confused
[edit]Not to be confused with the city of Leverkusen located on the other side of the country and its football team. There should be a tag in the introduction. --94.134.89.167 (talk) 19:28, 26 January 2020 (UTC)

Protection suggestion
[edit]After Leverkusen won the Bundesliga on 14 April 2024, should this page be autoconfirmed-protected or extended-protected to prevent vandalism? I'm not an admin by the way. Amogus Rundfunk (talk) 17:41, 14 April 2024 (UTC)
