Bay Mounds Legend
[edit]I lived in Bay until i was about 2nd grade. We lived on an adjacent 40 acre cotton farm, right next to the mounds (within hundreds of feet). My brother and I used to play on those mounds.
The legend that the mounds protected Bay from tornados is not quite true. One of my most vivid memories was being rushed out of the house, carried by my dad, to the storm cellar. When we came out, our barn was leveled by the tornado and our chicken coop was flippe upside down. At least one tornado hit Bay, and I witnessed it. Ipscone (talk) 13:44, 27 April 2023 (UTC)
