Critical Comments
[edit]I removed the following comments from the article, as they clearly belong here on the discussion page, not in the article. I'm not qualified to assess or re-write the comments. Please do this if you can.
"...Who wrote this drivel? Please note: This is utter nonsense as many other mariners had charted parts of the west coast from 1616, Dirk Hartog, Willem de Vlamingh come to mind, but also William Dampier. A signifcant part of the South Coast was charted in 1627 by Thijssen and de Nuyts. Plerase review this."

Oct 1800 Secret Sealed Orders from Napoleon to see 1798 United Irish General Joseph Holt (rebel)?
[edit]Whilst in Ireland 2006 for the 250th birthday anniversary of my 4xGreat Grandfather General Joseph Holt, Limerick University Irish History Prof Ruan O'Donnell said pers comm that Commander Nicholas Baudin had secret sealed orders from Napoleon to see my "Australian" apical ancestor sent to Sydney 1799. I've not yet been able to find any supporting information substantiating this since. Does anyone know where I may then look? Matthew 11:03, 28 October 2011 (UTC)
