Kepong Sentral

- I am aware of the lack of stations in the public transport map. Pasar Seni and Kepong Sentral doesnt appear in the map. Someone may need to redraw it. --Zack2007 08:44, 13 April 2007 (UTC)
Rawang-Rasa Line
[edit]I think we need to separate the Rawang to Rasa line track from the Rawang-Seremban Line. Passengers have to disembark in Rawang to get to Rasa. Should we have a separate article for Rawang-Rasa Line? --Zack2007 13:36, 13 April 2007 (UTC)
- On this I would disagree, for the EDT project, there are around 11 new stations built (Serendah, Btg Kali & Rasa included) till Ipoh. Even now, KTM has yet to announce on whether these stations will serve as extension of the commuter line from Seremban, or as a connecting Tanjung Malim - Rawang line, or only as part of the Ipoh - KL fast shuttle service. The only information released so far is the shuttle between the Rasa - Rawang station, and for all we know this might only be a temporary service.
- I noticed that some of the Komuter ticketing machines has already labeled the Rasa, BK and Serendah station on them (means that KTM is likely to go ahead on this). So I suggest that we wait till April 21 when this service is scheduled to start and see what further info KTM will release. --Bukhrin 19:50, 13 April 2007 (UTC)
- I think it's OK to include the stations name up to Ipoh on the Rawang-Rasa part since they're completed anyway, just use the "stations not in use" (recommend icon exDST). My opinion anyway --Bukhrin 13:21, 8 May 2007 (UTC)
- This station directory at the Batang Kali station suggests that the Rawang-Seremban line will eventually be merged with the rest of the route to Ipoh. The stations from Rasa onwards are identified as:
- Kuala Kubu Bharu
- Tanjung Malim (includes KTM Intercity North-South Line services)
- Behrang
- Slim River
- Sungkai
- Tapah Road (I presume the name refers to the older Tapah station (no article yet), which serves KTM Intercity North-South Line services)
- Kampar
- Batu Gajah, and
- Ipoh (includes KTM Intercity North-South Line services)
- That being pointed out, I say we go for renaming the article to "Ipoh-Seremban Line" or "Ipoh-Rawang-Seremban Line" (as per a map I received during the ride which dubs the current Rasa-Seremban line "Rasa-Rawang-Seremban route") straight away in anticipation of the connection's completion. - Two hundred percent 08:51, 3 May 2007 (UTC)
- Thank you for doing a little trip. Hmm, too soon to be renaming it maybe? Not sure, I guess we need more opinion regarding. Just wondering, why is the dot where Kepong Sentral and Bank Negara in that map appeared blank text? Is the map just incomplete? - No prize if you guessed it correctly. Squares are stations where the Intercity trains stop :D. As for the blanks, have no idea, maybe got some typos there and they scraped it out? Or maybe some renamings? (Bank Negara Sentral, Kepong Sentral Sentral) LOL --Bukhrin 12:16, 3 May 2007 (UTC)

That's be great, take some pictures also will you? I'm under the impression that the new stations are much better than the one they currently have in the Klang Valley (which is nothing more than cheap rugged stone platform and something that barely qualify as a roof) --Bukhrin 16:15, 25 April 2007 (UTC)
- The standards of the stations are similar to that of the Mid Valley and Kepong Sentral stations: Platforms are long, tiled and covered by large metal-framed shelters, but feature standardised station buildings larger than those seen with those two other stations.
Btw, most stations along the Rawang-Seremban line have or are undergoing some sort of shelter upgrading, mainly involving the removal of smaller original shelters in place of wider, higher ones that look like those seen in new Komuter stations built since 2004. Very few along the line have been spared from this change (due mainly to sparse usage). - Two hundred percent 08:30, 3 May 2007 (UTC)

Extension till Rembau
[edit]On 30th August, KTMB officially extended the line from Sungai Gadut till Rembau. But the rest (Tampin, Batang Melaka & Gemas) might not be served in the commuter service. KTMB ordered 20 more trains for ETS services with a different aerodynamic design, namely Class 93. Also, early next year, ETS routes will be expanded from Ipoh-Kuala Lumpur to Kuala Kangsar-Kuala Lumpur. Names of services / Lines are outdated
[edit]The names of the lines are outdated. KTM has long since used different names to refer to the KTM Komuter lines especially in the Central Sector. They are no longer named after a specific station on the line (unlike the RapidKL system). The lines are named simply with both termini of the lines (i.e. Seremban Line or Line 1 or Blue Line -> Batu Caves-Pulau Sebang Line). This change is apparent in both KTM's website and ticketing systems: https://www.ktmb.com.my/ and RapidKL's new Klang Valley Integrated Transit Map which is approved by APAD: https://myrapid.com.my/bus-train/rapid-kl/rapid-kl-integrated-transit-map/.
