No, they are completely different. The Dardanelles Operation was undertaken by the Royal Navy in order to control the shore, while the Battle of the Dardanelles was fought by the Russian Navy out in the open. --Ghirla^-трёп- 06:07, 7 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
