[edit]Are you sure its Vilcapugio? Because that doesn't match the translation. Pozo (Well) in quechua is actually Puquio not pugio. The battle name would then be Vilcapuquio, which is the name consistently used in Peruvian historiography. --Victor12 16:29, 2 May 2007 (UTC)
- Spanish conquistadores were not the best linguistics, and I wouldn't be surprised if they miss-heard a word. I've always known the battle as Vilcapugio (with the G sounding like an Enlglish H: Veelcahpooheeoh) --Mariano(t/c) 20:21, 2 May 2007 (UTC)
