New artice
[edit]The previous article has been replaced by the new article which is hopefully more neutral and comprehensive. Mohammad Adil 23:46, 4 August 2007 (UTC)
The stories of 'rivers of blood' are so frequent about the wars of those times that one wonders whether they were a later sensational story invented by story tellers. It has been said that 'Saeed ibn Qas' also did a similar thing in another battle. And the story always ends with the opening of a dam or mixing the water with the blood so that the said 'oath' can take place. The source is always Tabari, a 4th century historian, well far away from the main sources, so less reliable. I suggest editing out the part about 'river of blood' unless ome other sources corroborate it. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.95.163.30 (talk) 06:48, 14 August 2012 (UTC)

Since there's no evidence of ongoing discussion, I'm removing the tag for now.
