Battle of Ticroghan
[edit]The battle would be more identifiable if it were spelt Ticroghan, as it is spelt today, and was usually spelt in the seventeenth century: http://books.google.com/books?q=Ticroghan. 86.42.117.220 (talk) 03:31, 22 February 2009 (UTC)
- The site is called Ticroghan (as you said) in its description on the Meath Heritage website where it is identified as "ME01911 - TICROGHAN - Bastioned fort" (http://www.meathheritage.com/index.php/archives/item/me01911-ticroghan-bastioned-fort). The remains of the fort are in County Meath, south of the M4, not far from the village of Clonard, which is on the old road (the R148) just north of the M4 highway. Traces of the northern and eastern bastions and some other features can still be clearly recognized on Google Maps (https://www.google.com/maps/@53.4358,-7.0444,602m/data=!3m1!1e3). That seems to be all that remains. Johannes Schade (talk) 15:08, 5 April 2021 (UTC)
