Very well done article, congratulation for your mention for good article
[edit]I just want to add this little amusing information, Philippe de Vaudreuil who was the general of Frontenac was at the head of the Régiment de la Marine, He will come from Montréal after seen that the expedition against montréal was not working. Upon his arrival at quebec he was cheered. This man was a musketeer of Louis XIV (just like Dartagnan and Cyrano) But the most amusing part is that his son will be in Québec with Montcalm in 1759 and they will defeat Wolfe at Beauport in July. But it get better...another of his son, Louis-Philippe de Vaudreuil was in a famous naval battle of Cap Finister in 1747 and well known to Louis XV. The was of Quebec city were built in 1747...so they did not existed in 1690. But it's not even the best part. Louis=Philippe had a son of the same name. He will defeat the British Navy in front of Yorktown in 1781. And roll the drum here...Louis-Philippe de Rigaud marquis de Vaudreuil will be in charge of the naval protection of...Boston in 1782. The son of a Quebecker will be the naval protector...of Boston on behalf or Georges Washington. (and we have his letter with him in the Washington paper). This is the grand-son of the Best General of Frontenanc...Philippe de Vaudreuil. Boston people who will try many time to attack quebec (including against the British in 1775) will be protected by a man who's father was born in Quebec.
GA Review
[edit]- Support I'd pass it now but the nomination process was not complete it is now. I'll leave it a day to allow some more input. In any case it was no longer a Stub and has been promoted to B-class.Peter Rehse 04:28, 13 March 2007 (UTC)
- And passed. Essentially no comments - it covered all the criteria more than adequetly especially when one considers the relatively small article size.Peter Rehse 07:47, 14 March 2007 (UTC)
GA Sweeps Review: Pass
[edit]As part of the WikiProject Good Articles, we're doing sweeps to go over all of the current GAs and see if they still meet the GA criteria. I'm specifically going over all of the "Conflicts, battles and military exercises" articles. I believe the article currently meets the criteria and should remain listed as a Good article. I made a few minor corrections, but there were no major problems with the article. If you have any questions, let me know on my talk page and I'll get back to you as soon as I can. I have edited the article history to reflect this review. Regards, --Nehrams2020 18:18, 14 September 2007 (UTC)
