Amount of dead
[edit]Two men down? Can anyone verfiy this? TehNomad 01:13, 8 December 2006 (UTC)
- I can’t believe it, Smith (p.151) does say only two killed and 60 wounded, the enemy had only six killed and wounded, but with 500 pows. Smith, does; however, list this as a ‘skirmish’

- The Ottoman casualties seem a bit odd. At first it was unknown, then at least 100, then someone puts 6 and someone else changes it to 6,000. Is this just original research or vandalism? Lordrichie (talk) 07:32, 9 May 2011 (UTC)
One sec--this seems a bit biased -- "Don't be mistaken..." montag (talk) 05:36, 30 November 2012 (UTC)
Ottoman commander, troops
[edit]The lead seems to be misleading: a) Abdullah wasn't governor of Damascus throughout 1799, and there's no source given, so maybe it's a case of faulty "own research". b) One can understand that Abdullah was in the field by himself, commanding the troops, but I don't think he was - who commanded the troops? c) Any details about the composition of the army? Ottomans employed various troops, professional Janissaries, Sipahis, and various local troops - Arabs, Bedouin, Arnauts, etc. Arminden (talk) 17:59, 11 May 2020 (UTC)
