Loudoun Hill

[edit]

This article claimed the battle was near Loudoun Hill (map). However Scottish Places, a .gov.uk website, gives it as happening aty Mauchline (map), which is probably 30 or so miles away. I've changed the text to Mauchline and removed references to Loudoun Hill. --Tagishsimon (talk) 23:49, 7 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Location

[edit]

The battle would have been fought on the moorland a number of miles to the east of Mauchline so the original location of Loudon hill may not have been wrong.

If you look on google earth you can see the expanse of the moorland so the battle may have been somewhere in between Mauchline and Loudon hill. — Neil Ritchie (talk) 19:16, 30 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
