[edit]There have been several battles of Mainz with luck on both sides. So again, we have to be more precise. --Symposiarch 15:52, 14 January 2007 (UTC)
Serbian Mercenaries
[edit]I have added a citation needed tag to the articles inclusion of a line about nonparticipating Serbian mercenaries that was edited in by an IP address. If anyone can provide a citation for this, I would find it quite interesting. Bennyfactor (talk) 23:28, 3 August 2011 (UTC)
- This seems unlikely. Stephan Bernhard Keglevich who was their leader died on 1 December 1793. I suspect that Keglevich and his Serbian soldiers observed the earlier Siege of Mainz (1793). I plan on deleting the reference on my next visit. See http://www.napoleon-series.org/research/biographies/Austria/AustrianGenerals/c_AustrianGeneralsK.html#K10.
