[edit]Check the account of the battle by Henry Appleton Rust in book "History of the Rust Family" (Library of Congress). This major's photo (Illinois 27th) is hanging in a barbershop in Monmouth Illinois.
Clarify, please
[edit]…the town of Point Pleasant, on the right bank of the river almost directly opposite Island No. 10.
- Not really. Point Pleasant is round the second bend, and actually directly opposite Island No.11. Also, on your map, we can’t see the little road from the island to the mainland.
