Desire to add a Blog as a Source

[edit]

Hello to anyone interested. I have adopted this stub and for the past week or so I have been attempting to find new sources of information about the battle. When I found the article it had one reference and no citations.

I have found several new sources with information about the background events, the individuals involved, and cursory information about the battle - the date, who fought, and who won. I also found a single source that had detail information about the battle itself - the tactics etc. That source, however, is a blog and when I tried to enter it I got a warning from Wikipedia about self-promotion and reliability. I looked high and low for alternative sources that had detail about this small battle, including everything in JSTOR, but no luck.

I have reviewed the information that I desire to source from the website and I believe it to be accurate compared to the bits and pieces that I have from other sources. The article that I desire to source was written by the operator of the website, a Masters Graduate in the subjects of Military History and Strategic Study from NUI Maynooth at the Centre for Military History whose thesis focus was County Limerick in the Irish Civil War. I don't believe anything about this battle which occurred almost 380 years ago is controversial. The article is pretty straight forward without slander.

Here is the link to the website and article - https://neverfeltbetter.wordpress.com/2013/05/08/irelands-wars-glenmaquin/

So I am seeking input. I would like to use the blog as a source. Without it as a source. I have a much shorter, less informative article.
