- Lead
- Is there a reason why Averell isn't linked in the lead?
- Fixed. TwoScars (talk) 13:02, 22 March 2021 (UTC)
- I think when you're referring to a single Confederate army, army should be lowercase, and Confederate Army should be saved for when you're referring to the entire Confederate States Army
- Fixed everywhere. TwoScars (talk) 15:44, 22 March 2021 (UTC)
- Background
- A one-sentence reference to the Western Virginia campaign might be useful
- Dropped category, left over from original, clarified White Sulphur Springs. TwoScars (talk) 13:02, 22 March 2021 (UTC)
- Also link Averell at the first mention in the body
- Fixed. TwoScars (talk) 13:02, 22 March 2021 (UTC)
- Kelley's orders
- "attack a Confederate force stationed near Lewisburg in Greenbrier County, West Virginia" - move the link for Lewisburg from here up to where Lewisburg is first mentioned in the background
- Fixed. TwoScars (talk) 13:02, 22 March 2021 (UTC)
- Averell's trap
- "Elsewhere, during the afternoon of November 4, two regiments from the Confederate cavalry brigade of Albert G. Jenkins were resting in Greenbrier County while" - Jenkins has already been introduced, so no need to use his full name again here
- Fixed. TwoScars (talk) 15:55, 22 March 2021 (UTC)
- Fight at Mill Point
- "Early in the morning on November 5, Averell moved his infantry from Huntersville toward Mill Point, and Oley left Marlinton for the same destination" - Since you're using Marling Bottom for Marlinton in the rest of the article, use Marling Bottom here
- Fixed. TwoScars (talk) 15:44, 22 March 2021 (UTC)
- Aftermath
- I think it would be useful to work a little bit about Droop Mountain Battlefield State Park in here somewhere
- Added a small section at the end called "Today", that discusses the park, NRHP, and cemetery at Lewisburg. Left out discussing ghosts, to which Lowry devotes an entire chapter. TwoScars (talk) 17:10, 22 March 2021 (UTC)
- References
- Scott should be listed as an editor, not an author, for the OR.
- Changed Scott, and Ainsworth & Kirkley, to editors. TwoScars (talk) 15:52, 22 March 2021 (UTC)
- Other
- I don't think this should be in Category:Western Virginia campaign. The Western Virginia campaign was a separate 1861 event.
- Strongly agree, probably left over from old version. Removed. TwoScars (talk) 13:02, 22 March 2021 (UTC)
Good work, placing on hold. Hog Farm Talk 23:40, 21 March 2021 (UTC)
- Might be done—I'll look over again later today. TwoScars (talk) 17:10, 22 March 2021 (UTC)
- @Hog Farm:–Unless you have anything else, I believe I am done. Thank you for reviewing this—an obscure battle that had importance for West Virginia. TwoScars (talk) 19:50, 22 March 2021 (UTC)
- Passing. This one was really interesting. I'd actually heard of it before, although I mistakenly thought that Jenkins played a significant role in it. And least this one had a book about it. When I worked on Battle of Roan's Tan Yard last year, it so difficult to source from obscurity. Hog Farm Talk 03:10, 23 March 2021 (UTC)
