Is there a reason why Averell isn't linked in the lead?

I think when you're referring to a single Confederate army, army should be lowercase, and Confederate Army should be saved for when you're referring to the entire Confederate States Army

"Early in the morning on November 5, Averell moved his infantry from Huntersville toward Mill Point, and Oley left Marlinton for the same destination" - Since you're using Marling Bottom for Marlinton in the rest of the article, use Marling Bottom here

I think it would be useful to work a little bit about Droop Mountain Battlefield State Park in here somewhere

I don't think this should be in Category:Western Virginia campaign. The Western Virginia campaign was a separate 1861 event.

- Passing. This one was really interesting. I'd actually heard of it before, although I mistakenly thought that Jenkins played a significant role in it. And least this one had a book about it.
