I'll start this one shortly.--Sturmvogel 66 (talk) 16:36, 2 June 2016 (UTC)
- I am ready to address any issues. Regards, --Gligan (talk) 10:35, 2 July 2016 (UTC)
- Sorry, I've been a bit distracted of late. I'll try to get to this this weekend.--Sturmvogel 66 (talk) 20:20, 2 July 2016 (UTC)
- That is no problem at all, I myself am very busy and understand your situation :) --Gligan (talk) 11:28, 18 July 2016 (UTC)
- No DABs, external links good.
- Images appropriately licensed.
- The second redlink for the peace treaty is redundant to the one in the lede. Same with Saktikios.
- Done. --Gligan (talk) 11:28, 18 July 2016 (UTC)
- I would suggest moving the portal bar below the sources section; I find it distracting to see it above all the appendixes. Your choice, though.
- Done, although I think it makes more sense the portal bar to be in the section "See also". --Gligan (talk) 11:28, 18 July 2016 (UTC)
- Not seeing much else that needs corrections on this first read. I'll give it another pass tomorrow or the day after to see if anything jumps out at me.--Sturmvogel 66 (talk) 03:23, 12 July 2016 (UTC)
- outskirts of capital add "the" between "of" and "capital".
- A year earlier the Bulgarians engaged and defeated a Byzantine army in the Battle of Pegae in the vicinity of Constantinople. Delete this, it's not connected to the rest of the paragraph.
- In the summer of 922 the Byzantine emperor delete "of 922" and capitalize Emperor.
- The attempts in 922 to negotiate a Bulgarian–Arab alliance for a joint assault of Constantinople were discovered by the Byzantines and successfully countered. Delete the year from the sentence. Or rephrase the beginning "The subsequent attempts to negotiate..."
- horse of Saktikios stalled in the mud of a river Cars stall, not horses. I'm sure that the horse got stuck or simply froze. And what river?
- were empty words because at that time the Byzantine Empire Simplify and delete "at that time"--Sturmvogel 66 (talk) 23:18, 18 July 2016 (UTC)
- Done. Regarding the river: I don't know what river that might be (not sure if there are any rivers of significance around Istanbul). It is possible that it was actually a stream. However, in the chronicles it is mentioned as "a river" and that is why I wrote it that way. Regards, --Gligan (talk) 11:22, 19 July 2016 (UTC)
Iazyges
[edit]Personally I feel that while this article has much potential, it has many red links, so overall I am against the conferment of GA status upon this article. Iazyges (talk) 23:23, 11 July 2016 (UTC)
- Redlinks are not the responsibility of the nominating editor. You might consider expanding them yourself.--Sturmvogel 66 (talk) 03:13, 12 July 2016 (UTC)
- Gligan, I'm pinging you to let you know that the review has begun. Display name 99 (talk) 20:25, 16 July 2016 (UTC)
- Thank you, Display name 99. @Iazyges: The red links are an incentive to write articles on the missing topics. Constantine, who I consider the highest authority in Wikipedia on Byzantine topics might one day write an article about Saktikios, while sooner or later I will write an article about the Byzantine-Bulgarian treaty of 927. --Gligan (talk) 11:28, 18 July 2016 (UTC)
