How can the members of the 7th Cavalry include veterans of the Battle of Little Big Horn? Custer's troops at Little Big Horn were all killed. Had the 7th recruited some Cheyenne? Cdixon22:35, 30 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Well, not all of the 7th was killed at Little Big Horn, two other detachments survived. Just the companies with Custer were eliminated.
However, this article states that "22" companies of the 7th Cavalry participated. The 7th Cavalry page lists the regiment as having only 12 companies during the Indian Wars. Is "22" a typo for "12"? Thomas R. Fasulo (talk) 02:38, 1 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
