Talk:Battle of Bayana
This page was proposed for deletion by Venkat TL (talk · contribs) on 16 December 2021. |
The article Battle of Bayana has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
This is created by copying a section of Battle of Khanwa. This is not a battle, but a siege. The event is not remarkable enough to have its own article. The article also lacks sufficient context to identify the article. The reader is better served by reading the original article that covers it.
The significance is decided on the amount of coverage the event generates. Please refer to Wikipedia:Notability (events). If there are books or chapters written on an event then only it makes sense to create a new article. In this case, it is only covered in a paragraph, row of a table. I understand this to be a part of a larger campaign that reached its crescendo in the Khanwa battle. If my understanding is true, then this article should be deleted. If you have sources that are discussing this event in great detail then please present them in article. if you can find then please add good quality sources that cover the event in detail. Please refer to WP:HISTRS to see what is "good". Without good sources, the article may not survive. Thank you. Venkat TL (talk) 15:03, 16 December 2021 (UTC)
- From top of my mind I think RP Tripathi's Rise and Fall of Mughal Empire and GN Sharma's Mewar and Mughal Empire has good 4-5 pages dedicated to this particular event. Will see more sources on that, to expand this stub.Sajaypal007 (talk) 15:09, 16 December 2021 (UTC)
- In agreement with Venkat TL. I will merge this back to Battle of Khanwa. TrangaBellam (talk) 09:12, 27 February 2022 (UTC)
- The battle and siege of bayana deserves a separate article, because it was a specific event and has been covered in many mughal era history books, i dont know how much has been lifted from Khanwa page but I myself made many additions on the page and it was written by me, not copied from any articles. Please check the discussion that took place on my talk page. Bayana holds its own importance and should have its own page. Ranadhira (talk) 10:26, 27 February 2022 (UTC)
- your word is not evidence. Please give evidence of the notability of this 'siege'. Venkat TL (talk) 10:39, 27 February 2022 (UTC)
The article has citations. G.N Sharmas quote also highlights that it was an important event in the career of Sanga. Ranadhira (talk) 10:52, 27 February 2022 (UTC)
- Please WP:INDENT your comments. existence of citations does not mean notability. Please read WP:NEVENTS Venkat TL (talk) 11:19, 27 February 2022 (UTC)
