I saw on the article that it's mentioned that the Saxons - "prevailed" - at the followed "battle of Marton" which took place
on 22 on March 871. I thought the viking defeated Ethelred's army in both battle of Basing, and the battle of Marton.. it's also mention on the article of Merton on the status on the right side of the page that the outcome was "viking victory", and it's mentioned as well on the "Ethelred king of vessex" article - so from these facts I conclude that this is a mistake...
In addition, it's mentioned in the article that the "battle of Merton" is the last of eight battles in Ethelred's life, but I know
only: 1.battle of Anglefield, 2.first battle of Reding, 3.battle of Ashdown, 4.battle of Basing, 5.battle of Marton - what are the other
three battles? I didn't find any information on them whatsoever - if there are such, I be glad if someone will tell me what are the 3 other battles, and if it's a mistake so tell me as well so that I be cleared with the information.
Is there any additional information that someone can add to the article, because most of the article which is already so small and unspecified is mostly a preface (first passage) and undetailed & mitaken aftermath... — Preceding unsigned comment added by 87.69.168.95 (talk) 19:58, 28 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
